Blessed Time (super long post)

I did not make a post yesterday because i was pretty busy, i shall elaborate on why i'm so busy in a while. Yesterday started out pretty normally for a sick day. Basically got up, ate medicine, read my Bible, read my devotions, prayed my morning prayers. At around 1120, i took a drive down to north point to see if i could upgrade my line since there were no outstanding bills left.

Basically i tried to upgrade my line on friday but realised i could not do it because of the outstanding bill i had. I had another line which was used by rachel so she needed to clear that bill first before i could upgrade. So after choir practise (yes i went even though i was voiceless), i went with her to pay the bill then dropped her back at church for the overnight prayer.

So i was able to upgrade my line in a very short time. Thank God for that. So after i upgraded (re-contract is more appropriate since my contracted ended a number of years back) my line and purchased the new phone, i went to buy myself some duck porridge for lunch. I took it back home to eat as well as settle the phone. Had to charge it at home while i was out. So i left it charging and took my lunch. Then took a drive down to FSC to clean out in the cleaning.

The young adults were assigned to clean FSC (both units) so it was a massive task to be undertaken by us. I'm thankful that the Lord led many to come and help. Around of 15 came (ZH, Fiona, Seok, Kezia, John, Paul, Caleb, Haomin, Albert, Rach, Mary, myself, uncle joseph, aunt sharon, jonah) to help out. It was a good time to serve the Master together. We had a short sharing before we started work at 2pm. The sick ones (myself, seok, fiona) had to take this honey turtle jelly (that's what i think it is, can't remember what its called) that was good for our throats. To be honest, the jelly was really good but i didn't really like the 'feel' in my throat cos it was pretty thick and i didn't really like it. But i just took it since it was good for me.

We commenced work and proceeded to clean the different parts of FSC. It was good to work together as we cleaned the place and it was really fun doing the Lord's work. We were provided some food for tea break and we continued on to finish up. The interesting thing the guys had to do was to dismantle a cupboard as it was termite-infested and the cupboard fell apart as we tried to move it out of the room. So we broke it up and took it to throw away. Then we did some patchwork on the partition wall to fill the holes and to paint the brown parts. Actually, only john and i were doing the painting while the rest went to clean the other unit. So we just did what we could by God's grace.

Rach brought a colleague to speak with uncle joseph. We are thankful that with many prayers that this man was convicted and made a decision to follow Christ. He said the sinner's prayer and was willing to come to learn more and worship Christ. We are so thankful to God for touching this man. And this goes to show us that no one, no matter how vile and evil he is, cannot be touched by God and be saved. We will continue to pray for this man and pray that God will do the work in his heart and work in him. That he will truly seek after Christ and not revert back to his old ways. For we know that we need God to do the work and we shall pray continually for this man.

After the cleaning, we washed up and then proceeded for fellowship. Uncle joseph brought a number of us (12 people in 3 cars) to SSC (s'pore swim club) for dinner. John and paul went to join the chinese family worship while ZH went to the west side prayer meeting. Ethan came to join us on his own. So the 13 of us had good fellowship at the club. It was a really blessed time to spend the day serving God and having fellowship with God's people. Its so blessed and its a great time we spent with God. Actually, i only learnt that 20 May was uncle Joseph's birthday this morning. So its so good that he actually took the time to spend with the youths. Thank God for his love for the young people.

Perhaps now its appropriate to share God's blessing for me. The Lord actually granted me healing on that day and i was able to talk. Yes the Lord gave me my voice back midway through the cleaning. It was such a blessing from God that i'm so thankful for it. It could have been through the aid for 2 doses of the medicine but its by God that it worked in us. Its such a blessing and its an even greater blessing to see a soul added to His Kingdom.

Today, attended first service as there was a meeting for the YF. It was a meeting to see how we could promote fellowship amongst the youths. I took the time just before first service to mediate on God and to pray to Him. This is to prepare my heart and myself for the worship of God. To be honest, during the congregation singing, i felt pretty depressed as i was unable to sing praises unto God. I really love to sing praises to God and feel very low when i can't. But, i was encouraged by a memory in my past. [Basically uncle hong siang was the chairman of 2nd service and had a sore throat and could not sing, however he said that he could sing in his heart to God and to praise God.] This encouraged me and lifted up my spirits as i sung to God with my heart. It was so good and so wonderful that we can worship God with our hearts.

We had a message given by Rev Gerard on the path of wisdom. And truly, we need wisdom to know what is right and wrong to be able make the correct decision. And he tells us to follow the path of wisdom. This message is very appropriate to many of us believers and its something we must focus upon. For in this present evil age, we need the discernment from God to be able to tell right from wrong. We need to have the knowledge of God's word and the desire to obey His word. This is the most needful thing of us to follow the path of wisdom.

After service, we proceeded to FSC for group meetings. We had a newcomer jullian who joined us for the group meeting. We hope he'll be able to stay on and join us for more fellowship. Uncle Joseph also called Andy (the person who was willing to accept Christ yesterday) to come for the 1130 worship service. He felt the sermon was very good and able to help this man and i'm thankful that God answered prayers and he was willing to come down to listen. Uncle joseph continued his sharing on friends and we ended.

I stayed back for the meeting for project VIB. We had a good time with God discussing the various methods we can use to make the message more interesting. However, we need to continue to back the project with much prayer. We really need to constantly pray for this project that God will bless the work and we do not do it with our flesh but we serve through the Holy Spirit. May God undertake this work for us. Please pray for the youth gospel meeting on the 17th of June as well that God will undertake all the preparations for us.

After the meeting, i went for lunch with jonah, fiona and seok imm. We had a good lunch and fellowship together. During the lunch, i also made some arrangements to meet uncle joseph in the afternoon. We've been trying to meet each other to talk and to understand each other and fellowship in the Lord. When i got home, i gave him a call and we decided to go for a walk in Seletar reservoir. Uncle joseph came over to my place to drive me over for the walk.

During the walk, we took the time to discuss certain issues in-depth and touched on quite a few aspects of others. We managed to get to know each other and our stand better during the walk. It was really a blessed time we had to meet up and to talk about the things of God. It was really needful for my own spiritual walk to have this talk. I thank the Lord for this blessed time He has given to uncle joseph and myself. It was really a pity the time was so short for us to talk. We actually talked for 2 hours but the time really wasn't enough to be able to talk about many issues. I pray that the Lord will grant to us for time for fellowship.
