Who is F.B. Meyer

As most have known, i have posted quite a number of devotions by Meyer. Have u ever wondered who Meyer was? His full name was Frederick Brotherton Meyer or F.B. Meyer in short. He was a man of God that lived from 1847 to 1929. He was a close friend of Dwight Lyman Moody or D.L. Moody as he is commonly known. Meyer wrote many books and preached many sermons that was useful for the edification of the Christian and the glorification of the Master. Even Spurgeon said that "Meyer preaches as a man who has seen God face to face."

This is a compliment to the closeness that Meyer had with the Almighty God. How often can it be said that we have met God in our study of His Word. If we continue to see God face to face, how often would we fall into temptation. I dare say as long as our eyes are upon Him, we shall not sin. Even Peter who had his eyes focused upon God in the strong was able to walk over the waters of this world and had no fear. But once his eyes were off the master, he begun to sink and if our eyes are off the master, we will sink and fall. Matthew 14:28-31 holds this account.

Meyer's life motto was "Make the most of me that can be made for Thy glory." May this also be the goal of my own life. That the Lord will use me the best He can, such that my Life would bring Honour and Glory to His Name.
