Sunday Service (long post)
Today was another rare occasion where i attended 3 services. Firstly, i went to pick up the Spences from their hotel after i received a request. I was quite neutral about it and was happy to be able to pick them up and fellowship with them. So i arrived at the hotel around 8am and waited a while before they came. However, when i got there it wasn't raining but after a while it started pouring and i decided to move the car to the porch to so the Spences won't get wet. We then took the drive to the hotel where i got to talk to Dr Spence about music. I decided to ask him the question i got from Ms Chan last night. So i was able to get some insight on what we can listen to. Dr Spence also very kindly said he would mail me some CDs of good music we can listen to.
I attended 1st service where i heard a message on the weariness of Christian life. That the Devil will use the stress (external circumstances) and the distress (the things that directly oppress us) to make us weary in Christian living. Truly it is a warning to many and especially to myself. Because at times i feel very weary of the things in life. That i always wonder if doing good is right, that i wonder whether Christian living is worth it. Thank God that He has always encouraged me in these things. And after this message, i'm even more certain that with God, i'm always the majority when facing this world.
After the message, we adjourned to FSC for combined group meeting. Joseph drove the church van to bring us there and back. Paul Ferguson gave us the message and it was regarding the Holy Spirit. Its a new old lesson that i'm happy to hear and understand once more about the Holy Spirit and its infilling of my life. We got back to church for 2nd service. Once again got a seat in front. However it was a row forward from where i was sitting and i'm in the front row this time. The message of second service was dealing with the death of Christ on the cross. What does it mean to me and what has it done for me. Something that i find is very necessary and important for myself to know personally. In summary, Christ died for our sins, our weaknesses and to deliver us from this present evil world.
After the message ended, i went off to buy lunch for the Spences. So i missed the events after the message which was a presentation ceremony. I was unable to move my car and thank God that Rev Yong was around and he volunteered to drive us (me and jonah) to Kallang MacDonald's to buy lunch for the Spences. Thank God for the safe trip to the Macs and back to church. We then had fellowship with the Spences over lunch and it really was a blessing to my soul. To be near this great man of God is a blessing as i see a glimpse of God's glory shining through to me. And that makes me want to strive to be like Him to experience and see the glory of God for myself. O Lord, i want to see your glory so badly and be Holy so that i may see Thy Face. Will You perform this work in me now? Thank you Lord for answering my prayer.
The message at Chinese service dealt with the fall of Adam and that through Him, sin was brought into the world and kept on corrupting everything the world was. However, we have the remedy and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is also known as the Son of Man (meaning Adam) and that because of Jesus Christ, Adam's race is restored and the curse that fell on Adam's race since the Fall was removed. Thank God for this wonderful truth. After the service, i tallied up the books that JSM will buy over and then settled the account with Dr Spence on the books that i sold on his behalf. After that, i left with glo and dropped her home before going to my grandfather's place.
Just not too long ago, i sent my mom off to the airport. I didn't stay as she didn't want me to. So i said my goodbyes and hugged her before i left. I pray that God will undertake for her even as she travels back to the UK tonight. I shall be returning to the airport in a few short hours and i ask that God will strengthen me and give me the grace and strength to go through tomorrow's training and all of the activities that the Lord has placed before me. May God ever be my strength and my guide. Amen.
