I used to have Dreams of sadness and dreams of darkness. But Jesus Christ has come to give me light. Now my dreams are life and of life eternal with Him in glory.

A VEXED visit to Acts (updated)

Last friday, i noticed that there was an Acts shop in China Square. It looked interesting and i went in to take a look. I do know that the bookshop really doesn't offer very good and sound Christian books. But decided to forgo lunch today and make a trip down to browse through the books and see if i can find anything good there. So i walked down and looked at the various books. The bookshop was really big with a cafe inside it. Looked really nice as well. However, i wasn't very impressed by its range of books as they do not have the books i desire to read. The good and sound books. However, it was not without loss as i managed to find myself a Matthew Henry Commentary on the Bible. Really pleased to get it at a relatively low price of 46 dollars. Looked through it before i brought it to know what i was purchasing.

In this bookstore, i was vexed by the music that was played. Firstly they were playing hymns, which was good. However, they were playing hymns produced and arranged for MODERN day worship. Meaning that the hymns were butchered and sung in a CCM style. It really vexed my soul and i was highly uncomfortable in the store browsing through the books. It was pretty scary to hear how hymns can be sung in the CCM way. Knowing how the hymns ought to have been sung, the hymns was so butchered that i know the hymnwriter would turn over in their graves if they heard it. But thank God that i managed to get a matthew henry commentary from the place. I suspect i would not return to that bookshop unless absolutely necessary.

As for an update on my condition, thank God that i can talk now. My voice has returned, not fully but sufficiently, and i'm able to talk and speak in work. However, i shall try not to overstrain my voice unless its absolutely recovered. But i thank God for what He has given to me. The loss of voice allowed me to get more rest and time with God. Even as i look at the coming weeks of jobs, i see a purpose for those jobs. Perhaps it would be to allow me to get closer to God as i'm under more pressure. Nevertheless, i trust that the plan of God is perfect as His way is perfect. May the Lord undertake all things for me.
